Welcome to LUCIO.LIBERO

I grew up in Guyana, surrounded by the Amazon rainforest. That rainforest wasn't just backdrop, it was everything. The ingredients, the knowledge, the way we lived with nature rather than against it. Aloe vera on our skin, herbs we knew by heart, remedies passed down for generations. Skincare was simple because nature had everything we needed right there.

Then I moved to the UK and became a mum for the first time. Suddenly I was in this world of endless products, endless noise. Each claiming my baby needed them. A nappy cream. A massage oil. A moisturiser. Another cream for his hair the list went on... 

I did my research. I read the labels. I chose the brands that called themselves natural, that called themselves safe. I still remember standing there, looking at my son's drawer, five, six different products, feeling completely overwhelmed. Not just by the choice, but by the question underneath it. Was any of this actually safe for him? I carried that guilt quietly, that I might be harming my own baby without knowing it.

Years later, one of those brands, one that called itself safe and natural, was taken to court over undisclosed PFAS in its products. My mum instinct had been right all along.

That's when something clicked. We're already consuming too much. We're already drowning in choice. And if we were going to create something, it wouldn't add to that. We would strip it back.

We wanted to build a brand where one product could do what a family actually needs. From newborn to adult. The whole family. No more overwhelm. No more unnecessary things.

Then our son turned five months old and started losing his hair. He had mild eczema too, flare-ups that I'd soothe with my breast milk, but they always came back. our friend Ola gave me a balm he'd made himself for his own eczema and psoriasis. It came from the same place my upbringing did: a belief that nature already has the answer. I tried it on my son's hair. It worked. I used it on his eczema. It worked. And suddenly everyone was asking what we were using. That's when we knew.

That one balm, working as a nappy cream, a massage oil, a skin moisturiser, a hair cream. That was the answer.

That's LUCIO.LIBERO, Products that do more than one thing. Products that actually work. Not more things for the sake of it. Products that lighten the load instead of adding to it. Products led by nature's richness and abundance.
